Cirrus Gallery, an internationally-recognized contemporary art gallery and fine art edition publisher, specializing in art from the 1970s to the present, is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join its small, flexible team in downtown Los Angeles.
The Technical Associate will be taking on technical, virtual and/or online related gallery and print projects in communication with the Cirrus staff ranging from social media campaigns, short in-house video clips of the workshop, to website user experience improvement among other things.
Responsibilities include realizing online and virtual projects (NFTs, in-house short films of the workshop/print processes, e.g.), introducing a digital identity for Cirrus Gallery & Cirrus Editions, Ltd., developing and maintaining online viewing rooms, strategizing and implementing marketing materials and social media content in close coordination with the Director and gallery staff. In concert with the website management team and gallery staff, the Technical Associate will strategize, schedule, and prepare materials to keep the gallery website current
Necessary skills include the ability to manage multiple projects at once, both independently and collaboratively, meet time-sensitive deadlines, and strong technical and verbal skills. Qualified applicants will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and creativity are valued, and be extremely organized, autonomous and have a personable demeanor.
Some administrative duties include answering the phone, receiving and sending out postal mail, staying current on emerging artists and cultural trends and accompanying the Director on studio visits.
At times light art handling and storage tasks are also required to access our archives.
A degree and/or 2+ years experience in art and gallery, graphic design, and/or communications related fields with strong interest in and knowledge of art and social media/digital branding
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
Experience with database management, PC platform, Microsoft & Adobe Softwares (Word, Excell, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.), film / photography.
Part-time hours are three days a week, 10AM–5PM. Days can be decided upon, between Tuesday -Saturday. Salary is commensurate with experience.
