Part-Time, 25 hours per week, $20/ hr
Rare book and manuscript dealer specializing in 19th and 20th century literature, women’s history, Americana, First Editions, etc. is seeking a part-time assistant. Position requires ability to research historically significant persons and write appropriate descriptions for their books, letters, and documents.
Responsibilities
You will need to master a great deal of historical, biographical, and book-specific information in a short span. You will need excellent writing and collaborative skills. You will be writing descriptions for archives, rare books, etc., and have daily office administrative duties. A good background in history and/or literature is helpful, and a love of books is a must.
Requirements
- 4-year college degree
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent research skills
- Must have at least 55wpm typing speed
- Comfortable with PC Computer
- Strong knowledge in Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Ability to work in a small office environment
- At least 1 year business experience
Not required but helpful if:
- Experience with Filemaker Pro Database
