Bel Ami seeks a part-time Gallery Assistant / Manager to work with a small team.
This position is an opportunity to be part of a growing gallery and work closely with the Founders, Director, and artists. We are looking for a candidate with a friendly and professional demeanor; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and a strong knowledge and enthusiasm for contemporary art. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver who can take initiative, has great time management skills, is eager to learn all aspects of the gallery, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Hourly pay commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage the gallery archive by overseeing all gallery inventory and artist files.
- Coordinate shipping logistics for exhibitions, fairs, and clients.
- Support gallery artists and the Director in exhibition planning and art fair participation.
- Handle general administrative duties.
Requirements
A minimum of one year professional experience at an art gallery, museum or arts organization is required, and a BA in Art History or a related field is preferred. Additionally, qualified candidates must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Mac computer systems, and Adobe Creative Suite. SketchUp is a plus.
