Bid now through May 9th!
Carla is pleased to share its second art auction of works by an impressive roster of 73 L.A.-based artists. The auction, which is happening in conjunction with our 44th issue launch party and Soirée, is now live, and will conclude at the in-person soirée event on May 9th at Night Gallery.* You can find the auction site HERE.
Each L.A.-based artist — many of whom have been featured in Carla’s pages over the last decade — is contributing a small, accessibly-priced 5×7 inch work on paper (or a low-relief, wall-based medium) inspired by blow-in cards found between the pages of print magazines. The starting bid for all 5×7 inch artworks will be $300. Some artists have reinterpreted this theme across other mediums: small sculptures, ceramics, photography, and fiber works are also included.
This year’s auction also includes a “buy now” option, so you can secure your favorite works for $1,000. Plus, we have incorporated a small selection of exhibition catalogues, gift cards, art supplies, and museum memberships into the auction as well.
This year’s auction will include a featured artist section of 5 artists who have been interviewed in Carla in recent years. Each artist will present a larger artwork, to be sold at market value
Be sure to create an account on the website when prompted to register as a participant if you plan on bidding!
*Note: you do not need to attend the in-person Carla soirée in order to bid on and purchase auction works!
