Responsibilities
The Development Associate provides administrative and operational support to advance the fundraising goals of the Director. This position prepares donor correspondence; tracks and coordinates fundraising schedules, workflows, calendars, and meeting arrangements;and handles special projects. This position also assists in the planning and execution of special events and the annual benefit events with Director and MAK Center team; Help to create more opportunities for donor and board engagement in fundraising; assist with grants administration, including maintaining grants calendar; application materials preparation and coordination; grant editing, final reports; serves as an important liaison with donors, board and major stakeholders; and oversees all processing and acknowledgements for gifts. Tracking gifts and maintaining donor, prospect, and member information in Filemaker Pro, including coordinating mailings, proposals, reports, and invitations. The position is currently part-time with the possibility of converting to full-time employment after the initial trial period.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must be a highly effective communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have 1-3 years prior experience in institutional giving, development, or grant writing
- Experience with budgets and financial data
- Working knowledge of general business operations in a nonprofit arts environment and fundraising
- Excellent tech/computer skills. Must be proficient in MS Office and any other technology platforms
- Must have knowledge of and experience with donor database systems and other CRMs
- Must have tracking and reporting experience both to internal management and externally to funders
- Must have experience working in culturally diverse environments
- Must be detail-oriented
- Must be inquisitive, positive, and uplifting
